Dear BHUSD Community,
My name is Kim Lifschitz, and I’m thrilled to be running for the Beverly Hills Unified School District Board of Education.
My family has deep roots in Beverly Hills, and I’m the proud mom of Teddy, a 3rd generation BHUSD student. From pre-school teacher to paralegal to PTA executive board, my experience has given me the skills and perspective necessary to bring our district’s focus back to where it belongs – the students.
I can’t wait to share my vision for BHUSD with you in the months ahead. That vision includes:
A more comprehensive approach to student success that fosters academic achievement while also emphasizing personal growth, physical and mental health, and strong community connections for every student.
A restoration of trust between district leadership and the people it serves. Personal attacks from the boardroom dais, use of BHUSD resources for intimidation, and stifling of public input are just a few examples of recent unacceptable conduct that is beneath us as a community.
A renewed focus on responsible and informed governance. Board trustees must be deeply knowledgeable about all aspects of BHUSD, the people involved, and the laws that govern and protect them.
Simply put, let’s get back to school.
Much more to come — please stay tuned!
With gratitude,
